Based on our experience, it takes about 100 hours to be ready to write the LLQP exam. If you're studying part time, that works out to about 4-6 weeks.
LLQP or (H)LLQP stands for (Harmonized) Life License Qualification Program. It is the study materials and exam you are required to pass if you want to become a life or accident & sickness insurance agent/broker in Canada.
The exam is all multiple choice and open book. It is designed to be manageable by anyone. You certainly don't need a college/university education to pass it! The key will be in how you prepare. PNC Learning's LLQP course teaches you everything you need to know to pass the exam in plain language, we provide you extensive tutor support and offer a pass guarantee to ensure we are with you every step of the way.
You can attempt the LLQP exam 4 times within a 1 year period. If you fail your 4th attempt, you will have to wait another year before trying again. If you have a professionally diagnosed learning challenge, you can usually request an accommodation from your exam administrator.
To get your LLQP license, you first have to take a course with a Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO)-approved course provider. Once you complete the course, you will get your CIPR certification, which you can use to take the provincial LLQP licensing exams. Once you’ve passed all the required exams, just apply for the license with your provincial regulator.
