Course Description

Derivatives are a type of investment which are a complex way of investing. To understand these strategies, this course will help yof1u with the purpose of clarity with reference to the different types of derivatives. First, we will discuss the general features of derivatives. Then, options are explained with reference to calls and puts. The various strategies for these options are described to understand how clients can get a benefit out of these types of investments. Then, forwards are discussed which are over the counter traded derivatives. In the next section we cover swaps and futures, which are exchanged traded relatives. In the last part of the course rights and warrants, which are discount coupons for shareholders, are elaborated.


Students must pass the final exam before a certificate will be issued.
