Category Credits: 0.5 Financial Planning & 0.5 Practice Management Credit for FP Canada + 0.5 Professional Development  & 0.5 Business Conduct - Non-Ethics Credit for MFDA

Licensed insurance advisors must provide the clients the right information regarding fees for mutual funds. 

This course provides information about the management expense ratio, sales charges such as front end and back-end fees, trailer fees, switching fees, early redemption fees, and transfer fees. Also, Trading expense ratio, explicit and implicit costs in the MER are described. Accumulation plans as well as withdrawal plans are elaborated with examples.  

Mutual fund taxation items such as adjusting the cost basis for dividends, capital gains, taxable capital gains, and return calculations are provided.  

The last section reviews dealer registration requirements with reference to education, NRD, dual employment, prohibited practices, KYC rules, suitability, and SROs.


Students must pass the final exam before a certificate will be issued.
