Licensed advisors must understand the various types of mutual funds and their performance. This course first tells the advantages and disadvantages of mutual funds. It tells how mutual funds are formed and controlled. The organization of a mutual fund is described, as well as how they are regulated. The documents for disclosure are elaborated in this course. The important feature of a fund fact is reviewed. The elements of a prospectus are explained. First, the conservative mutual funds are informed, then the riskier mutual funds. The factors which determine mutual funds' performance are provided with examples. The benchmark indexes and comparisons universe are explained. The factors on which mutual funds are selected are tabulated and elaborated.  


Students must pass the final exam before a certificate will be issued.
